The Continuous Improvement System

Foundation Beliefs

  • The primary determinant of the quality of education that any student experiences is the quality of instruction that the student receives.

  • Teaching is a very complex act. Consistently teaching at a high level is one of the most difficult tasks in the world.

  • We have allowed teaching to become a very isolated profession. We must change this to a profession of collaboration.

  • Teaching is very hard work. That is as it should be. If we as educators do not put forth our very best effort to ensure that our students learn, we forfeit all rights to question our students' motivation to learn.

  • Effective teachers deserve to be identified, supported and celebrated

Primary Goals

The CIS was designed with two primary goals in mind.

  • The system was designed to be very user friendly for administrators, teachers, students and parents.
  • The system was designed to enhance teacher performance and, in so doing, elevate the student achievement.

When the CIS is implemented with fidelity, both goals are achieved.
