researched correlates that are designed to ensure that students
at every grade level in every subject area will demonstrate mastery
of the curriculum regardless of the race, sex or socio-economic
status.
The Effective Schools
Correlates are:
- A Clear and Focused
Mission must exist to ensure learning for all. Every activity
must be directed at achieving that goal.
- High Expectations
must be held for every individual involved in the teaching/learning
process.
- Instructional Leadership
must be exhibited by the principal and select teachers of the
school.
- The school day must
be structured in a manner that will afford the best Opportunity
To Learn to all students.
- Frequent Monitoring
of student performance is required to measure progress.
- Learning must take
place in a Safe and Orderly Environment.
- Home/School Relations
must represent an authentic partnership devoted to student success.
